I wrote a trio of posts tonight on women’s rights issues.
1) Does constitutional originalism preclude a female President?
2) Emergency contraception must be always offered and available. Why? So 14 year-old rape victims don’t not receive and have to wait to see if their rapist has impregnated them at the local Planned Parenthood (deluged, needless to say, with posters from anti-abortion protesters waving dead babies in her face).
3) I believe it is in these comment threads where folks have sought to draw a distinction between violence against women here and in certain more regressive regimes by arguing that we treat such crimes with revulsion and punish the perpetrators harshly. Turns out that’s, umm, false. However, we do throw the book at the abused women when they try to fight back.
