Political ads call out Trump’s golfing amid rising death rates (VIDEOS)
Donald Trump was one of the most vocal critics of Barack Obama's golfing, which became a major political mantra among many Republicans and on Fox News. It has not gone unnoticed by cartoonists and comedians that Trump is far exceeding Obama's golfing but for some strange reason Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other GOPers seem to be silent. Trump's golfing during the … [Read more...] about Political ads call out Trump’s golfing amid rising death rates (VIDEOS)
Count Dracula on the big screen
Review by Doug Gibson While reading a BearManor Media book on the vampire film, "Son of Dracula," there was a quote from a book title, "Count Dracula Goes to the Movies: Stoker's Novel Adapted," McFarland, 2017, by Lyndon W. Joslin. The title hooked me and I grabbed a review PDF copy from McFarland. In the forward, Joslin accurately explains that film is a distinct medium … [Read more...] about Count Dracula on the big screen
The Resilience Antitidote

A Memorial Day Like None Other
This Memorial Day is probably unlike any other Memorial Day we have ever observed. Of course, as every other Memorial Day, “It Is All About Honoring and Remembering” the men and women who have given it all for our country, for us, in military service – and we do. But on a day when the coronavirus death toll in our nation quickly and inexorably approaches the grim … [Read more...] about A Memorial Day Like None Other

The New York Times devoted it's print edition's entire front pageor by listing the names of 1,000 coronavirus victims. It would need 99 more pages to run them all. America Achieves Herd Inanity
Dear Posterity: You won't believe this when you read about it in the history books, so let me assure you, it actually happened. Trump created a false dichotomy and ordered churches open today, as "essential" -- just like meat packing plants and their workers. Yes, it was pandering to the evangelical "base." Behind Trump's demand to reopen churches: Slipping poll numbers … [Read more...] about America Achieves Herd Inanity

Goodbye, Mary (A Coronavirus Tragedy)
This is the most difficult article I have ever had to write. It is very personal and heartbreaking but I think instructive of the complicated life we all lead. I have had a friend, yes female, for almost 51 years. 5 decades ago, Mary and her husband John and their 3 young boys lived 2 blocks away from us in Minneapolis. Mary’s husband John worked in the same department as I did … [Read more...] about Goodbye, Mary (A Coronavirus Tragedy)

Uncle Will and the Fitzgerald Curse a rare part of John D. Fitzgerald’s western trilogy
Review and musings by Doug Gibson The late Utah-born author John D. Fitzgerald is certainly not a household name, but many of his books, primarily the youth fiction "The Great Brain" series, are both recalled and loved by I'd wager millions. In the 1950's, long before he started "The Great Brain" books, he wrote "Papa Married a Mormon," a major best seller. (Our review is … [Read more...] about Uncle Will and the Fitzgerald Curse a rare part of John D. Fitzgerald’s western trilogy
TRUMP IS PREPARING TO YELL ‘FRAUD!’ IF HE LOSES IN NOVEMBER

Lindsey Graham’s opponents release ad using his own words against him (VIDEO)
A new ad released by South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham's opponents is basically a bunch of clips underscoring how Graham has gone from best-bud-of-John-McCain to Trump surrogate. Right-Wing Tribalism Seems Implacable
One would have thought that the Covid 19 pandemic would have brought Americans together, given all the death, suffering and comparison to a war.
