Back by reader demand. Yes, I did find it. My favorite lip sync. Watch this teenage comedian (who has a real future ahead of him if he does more with his physical comedy) lip sync to Jim Carrey’s rendition of “Cuban Pete,” using soundtrack from “The Mask.” A brilliant, energy filled comedy lip sync:

Some younger readers have asked about the source of this number. Just WHO was Carrey imitating? He was doing a take off of Desi Arnaz’s signature number that he recorded for posterity on “I Love Lucy.” Video is BELOW (you’ll note the voice).
A word on Arnaz. He lived here in San Diego and was a beloved man. When I joined the staff of the San Diego Union in 1982 I immediately started hearing stories about his calls to the newspaper, asking for someone to do a story on the role of his orchestra in “I Love Lucy.” (He was very loyal to his band.). He would call and talk to some of the editors on occasion, and was highly popular.
And THAT is part of the reason he was a success: when you watch this, Arnaz had showmanship, he had pizazz…but what he lacked was a great voice. His voice was tinny, almost piercing…yet critics loved him, newspaper people loved him. He was a charmer. And when he passed away, a lot of people who lived where he lived in Del Mar were sad and a lot of San Diegans were sad.
Because they knew the man who lived behind the showbiz mask.
Here’s the classic scene from “I Love Lucy” (filmed when I was in pre-school):
