So concludes James Kendrick in a WinMo match-up with Android. Android Phone Fans takes note:
- Multi-tasking. Windows came away with a “Big advantage” because of Android’s
inability to run apps from SD Card. - Available Apps. WIndows gets the advantage for a larger catalog of robust applications.
- User Interface. Windows Mobile wins because 3rd party apps are better looking.
- Desktop syncing/integration. Depends on if you prefer Outlook or Google.
Fans concludes:
So when it comes to Multi-Tasking, App Availability and UI, Kendrick thinks Windows Mobile clearly defeats Android and if you are an Outlook user the platform picks up 4 out of 4 victories against the mighty bot.
Clickthrough for the details. It’s clear that Verizon’s Droids broke open the dam. The mobile platform now sizzles.
Me, I passed on the HTC Droid Eris (it was darned close but a slower chip, lower res screen, & no GPU made it worth waiting). I broke down and bought another iPhone for the family. Our next contract is up in April; mine in August. By then I’m thinking it’s unlikely I’ll be buying a fourth iPhone.
