Why THANK YOU readers.
TMV was sitting in his hotel room deep in downtown L.A. when he was genuinely surprised to discover that this site has been nominated in the Best Centrist Blog category in the 2006 Weblog Awards.
TMV himself has been so busy this month with tasks in his other incarnation, trying to get some posts done, rescuing his crashed database and adding so many new co-bloggers that the UN has offered us a seat on the Security Council that he actually FORGOT about this contest. So it was especially gratifying that we were nominated since we’ve tried the past year to respond to readers’ suggestions (but not the biologically impossible ones).
Details about other blogs nominated as finalists ARE HERE.
Voting starts Thursday. If you like this site, we’d be honored to get your vote…but frankly we’ve seen enough campaigning after a teenie-weenie event that took place for a few months and ended in November. So we might just run a short post reminding readers that voting is going on. (For the best predictions on what’ll happen in the voting contact Larry Sabato. Dick Morris has already announced that Hillary will win.)
