As we approach Memorial Day 2011, we will be remembering and honoring all our fallen warriors, with those who have died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars fresh on our minds.
But we will be equally remembering our fallen military from every other war and, also, veterans from the “old wars” who are still with us. Especially those from World War II who are passing away at a rate of 1,000 every day!
“Operation Resolve” is a campaign to have as many as possible of these living World War II veterans travel to Washington D.C. so “they may personally experience the memorials that honor their service and sacrifice.”
“Churches, civic groups, veterans groups, kids groups, schools and entire communities have come together to raise money for these final missions, and the cause was captured for an upcoming feature film.”
What better way to get started on the upcoming Memorial Day weekend than to watch a touching, beautifully rendered, two-minute trailer for the movie, “Honor Flight – the Story of Stars and Stripes” that will be released this November.
Join the more than three million people who have already seen this video about some of these World War II living heroes here and start your Memorial Day weekend early and appropriately. Please read some of the comments, too.
