Hello TMV readers.
There have been a sizable number of comments being marked incorrectly as SPAM thus not appearing on the site. These comments have been placed in a PENDING status and in many cases, once approved, get sent right back into PENDING. After a long investigation (aka “digging”) looks like the problem is isolated to the spam filters over-zealousness at random times due to certain word combinations. WELL that’s just not very easy to fix so I’ve disabled that filter and replaced it with another.
I may disable the comment editing feature from time-to-time over the next few days to do more testing so don’t rely on it. I will announce the all-clear after closely watching the new filter’s behavior with comments.
NOTE: For those that wonder why I just didn’t disable the spam filter earlier is simply due to the extreme amount of SPAM the site receives and how well the previous one worked. For example, when I turned off all spam filtering for 1 minute, over 500+ spam comments appeared. When turned back on, zero. So in order to find a comparable one is difficult. But it looks like this one will fit the bill.
Also I will be watching the PENDING area closely as well. Thank you for your support.
I’m not complex. Don’t have time for all that. And all that complex stuff bad for the stomach. Just color me simple and plain with a twist.
