Times Online’s Daniel Finklestein had a TV debate with George Galloway on the Iraq War. And if the final poll shows that Galloway’s anti-war side won the poll war, Galloway lost the image war.
Finklestein notes that the tally on the screen was actually wrong: it was 34-66. But Galloway seemed to have one thing on his mind: Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel...(And of course in no way is he even slightly anti semitic). P.S.: I know quite a few Jewish friends and relatives who oppose the war who would shake their heads in disgust if they saw these clips of Galloway.
UPDATE: Galloway is normally quite assertive (which is actually a plus on TV, which likes controversy and passion). A reader on Finklestein’s post gives THIS CLIP of Galloway facing a tough BBC post-2005-election interviewer.
