This morning ceremonies were held marking the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Library.
I know that Bush remains a lighting rod for controversy but it was nice to see that today everyone put politics aside to celebrate this country and the institution of the Presidency.
Five Presidents and First Ladies gathered together for the ceremonies, a historic moment that occurs rarely. Also present were the Johnson, Nixon and Ford daughters and Michael Reagan, which means we had 50 years of Presidential families gathered together.
I was in the extended crowd at the dedication of the Reagan library and though we couldn’t see much of anything due to there was still a feeling of history as so many current and former leaders gathered together.
