The phrase “blame game” is back in vogue — it won’t be long before someone makes a hit song and MTV video about it. Cartoonists are poking fun at it and President Barack Obama is blasting it.
The above cartoon by the cartoon genius RJ Matson (this one drawn for The St. Louis Post Dispatch) is indicative of the hours of enjoyment and editorial page cartoon material the pointing fingers are providing to cartoonists. And here are President Barack Obama’s comments today talking about the “ridiculous spectacle” or oil company execs “falling all over each other” to point the finger at others.
The troubling part of it: the problems so far seem to be the tip of the iceburg…or, rather, the edge of the oil spill. The troubling reality is this: the worst may be yet to come..
