This is turning into a down and dirty fight to the finish for the White House, but each side may still show their moments of grace. Perhaps John McCain read Tony Campell’s post earlier. Perhaps he just outflanked the worries of our Editor, Joe Gandelman. No matter what the cause, McCain is indeed releasing a new ad on the evening that Barack Obama accepts the nomination of his party to be the next president.
JOHN MCCAIN: Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America.
Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations.
How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day. Tomorrow, we’ll be back at it. But tonight Senator, job well done.
I’m John McCain and I approve this message.
