Tony Blair tells BBC that he would have looked for another reason to invade Iraq if the weapons of mass destruction argument had not been available:
“I would still have thought it right to remove him. I mean, obviously you would have had to use and deploy different arguments about the nature of the threat,” Blair told the BBC in an interview to be broadcast this morning.
Blogger reaction here.
“It looks as if you are wearing cammies so I assumed U.S. Army. Are you Navy? What rating?”
Navy to the bone. Radioman.
Not to pick nits, but I thought the RM rating was discontinued in 1999 and all were converted to IT.
I was an ET. Radar first, then long-haul comms. Retired as an ETCS.
” thought the RM rating was discontinued in 1999 and all were converted to IT”
You are correct. But (and this may be considered agism…but) I saw the grey beard and assumed you hadn't been around to see the conversion. My most humble apologies for that assumption. You'd think I'd learn to NEVER assume by now! I'm up for ITC now (in Feb). Things were tight up until now. If I don't make it, I'm going to retire myself.
Apology accepted but certainly not needed. Without sounding snarky, there is life after retiring from the Navy, which for me happened over 30 years ago. As far as ITC goes, what worked for me was study, study, study.
