Anne, Please, Drink A Glass of Warm Milk and Get Some Sleep

Anne Bayefsky of the National Review Online is having trouble breathing, and I think she might be about to pass out. And who can blame her, considering that she is writing about Pres. Obama, who once again is putting us all in mortal danger with his disgracefully irresponsible behavior (emphasis is mine):

Looking for a quick and easy boost in the polls, President Obama has decided to go to the one place where merit bears no relationship to adulation: the United Nations. On September 24, the president will take the unprecedented step of presiding over a meeting of the UN Security Council.

No American president has ever attempted to acquire the image of King of the Universe by officiating at a meeting of the UN’s highest body. But Obama apparently believes that being flanked by council-member heads of state like Col. Moammar Qaddafi — who is expected to be seated five seats to Obama’s right — will cast a sufficiently blinding spell on the American taxpayer that the perilous state of the nation’s economy, the health-care fiasco, and a summer of “post-racial” scapegoating will pale by comparison.

After all, who among us is not for world peace?

Unfortunately, however, the move represents one of the most dangerous diplomatic ploys this country has ever seen. The president didn’t just decide to chair a rare council summit; he also set the September 24 agenda — as is the prerogative of the state holding the gavel for the month. His choice, in the words of American UN Ambassador Susan Rice, speaking on September 2 at her first press briefing since the United States assumed the council presidency, is this: “The session will be focused on nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear disarmament broadly, and not on any specific countries.”

At this point on the NRO site, there is a link that says, “Keep reading this article.” However, I suggest that you consider the matter carefully before you click on that link, or manually scroll down — unless you don’t mind having terrifying dreams all night.

Got no problem with him doing this, other than it might be a more useful use of his time to getting around to vetting his Czars and other appointees. I mean look at the guy who used to be his Green Czar who just “resigned”.

  2. Gary Denton says:

An earlier signature to the document calling for more investigation into 9/11 is a prominent Birther.

Hysteria has reached fever pitch among conservatives and the attacks on Jones are mostly crazy smears. Yes, he's liberal, he is a prominent ecologist, he opposes unjust wars. Conservatives did not win the last election and can't appoint their crazy radicals to posts. A moderate-liberal won and some of the new appointments will be filled by people conservatives may consider dangerous radicals. Bush never removed his dangerous radicals from their appointments and it is a conservative victory that the Obama administration did not support Jones more strongly.

  3. Leonidas says:

The Moderate Liberal, Hilliary Clinton lost, the left wing progressive won. If he was so moderate why would he appoint a guy with associations to the radical group STORM to a Czar post? Well because Czars don't have to be vetted by the Congress like cabinet members.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_Together_…

Formed by young activists in September 1994, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) was a left wing revolutionary cadre-based organization based in the Bay Area of the United States.

    <snip>
STORM initially included anarchists, communists and revolutionary nationalists, but after some struggle the anarchists left and STORM become more communist-oriented. The group considered Mao Zedong as their spiritual leader and as an atheist organization expressed deep dislike of religion.

Oh yeah real moderate there. *rollseyes*

Truther, self proclaimed communist, maker of profane public statements, maker of racist statements, supporter of cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, and who knows what else.

Yeah a real moderate. Who in the Obama administration vetted this guy anyhow? Hugo Chavez? I'd love to know the story behind the vetting.

  4. TheMagicalSkyFather says:

Do you see commies everywhere or just under your bed?

  5. DLS says:

I already wrote elsewhere about what I was moved to think about earlier today, if a number of people aren't thinking by now about how much less amaturish and inept as well as extremist a President Hillary Clinton, who had her radicalism lessons harshly learned in the 1990s, in place of Obama. (That included replacement or resignations of a number of activists that began the first administration.)

The czars aren't a disturbing thing so much as an amateurish thing, often just bureaucrats padding the payroll but amounting to little more than figureheads (when not a way to bypass a Congress of idiotic lib Dems the Obama gang is aligning themselves with in a disturbingly increasing manner, anyway).

This, while many top-level posts remain unfilled.

Would it have been better under President Clinton and more adults and fewer children in power?

  6. DLS says:

“Also we probably need to give the rest of the Tsars a good vetting considering what a nutjob got through the Whitehouse screening.”

Should we waste any time with the likes of Carol Browner and the fact that a “climate change” czar position was even created? There's nuttiness for us all to see once more.

Of course, what this episode does is make more pressing the concerns of the likes of ACORN and others tainting (as expected already) the Census next year. What all kinds of games will they play?
