The networks interrupted regular programming about a half hour ago. Pres. Obama is soon to make an announcement that Osama bin Laden has been killed and is in U.S. hands. According to CBS News, this story has been confirmed, and they are just waiting for Pres. Obama to make his announcement. CBS also reported that bin Laden was shot in the head, which obviously would indicate that he was killed at close range, and not from a drone. I don’t know if this last has been confirmed, though.
I still believe he has been dead for years.
Sounds like you still believe in Santa Clause also. Just give credit where credit is due, you can still hate the president.
I think credit is due for all involved.
President Obama and his team
President Bush and his team
The CIA for tracking down the info
and most importantly the troops.
They ALL deserve credit
I’m not worried about politicizing this — it’s too early in the 2011 campaign year and Trump has been more offensive than bin Laden to Americans lately, anyway.
I’d really like to know everything about Obama’s location and what he and others were doing there, and the details of the operation from planning through execution.
What will we do with the body, have it lie in “disgraced state” somewhere as a trophy (“monument to justice”) that visitors could come to see for a brief time? (even paying admission to be given to the 9/11 victims, etc.)
While this is a victory for the US, the Osama brand died before him. The Arab Spring is about self rule, not Osama’s delusional Jihad. None of the Arab Revolts embraced Osama’s Jihad, they just overthrew national despots.
This is a victory for all of us, and a minute easing of the hearts and minds of those who were alive and old enough to remember that horrific day.
I read his body is being handled in the traditional Islamic manner. It is just a body, send it back to his family.
Yes, a victory for us all, but in particular those who lost loved ones, watched the towers fall, and worked on ground zero. Today is a good day in NY.
