In a keynote speech that electrified the convention, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro introduced himself to America and quite possibly set the groundwork for a future Presidential campaign of his own.
Much like Chris Christie did at the RNC last week Castro connected with the audience by discussing his own background and how he felt that the Obama White House would do more than a Romney White House to allow his own children to have a bright future of his own.
As one would expect from a keynote speech at a national convention the address included both a series of attacks against Romney and the GOP as well as a list of accomplishments for the past four years of the Obama administration.
One moving moment came when he took time out to honor his mother, who had worked hard to give him and his twin brother (soon to be a Congressman from Texas) the opportunities to grow.
Although I did not agree with everything in the speech (any more than I’ve agreed with all of any speech of the past couple weeks) I found it to be a moving speech and one that portends a bright future for Castro.
