First there was Wide Open*. Then there was Red Blue America. Now, there’s Matter of Opinion. From its About Us page:
Matter Of Opinion (MOO) is a new bi-partisan concept designed to draw as many people as possible into the political discussion. MOO launches weekly survey-based conversations that explore a variety of politically-charged local, national and global issues…issues that (until now) are not easily open to public opinion. As people respond to the survey they also provide a question of their own which all respondents after them can answer. After people answer questions they carry their answers into their social networks with a simple embedding widget. This gets their peers involved in the dialogue. This new form of dialogue is free in that people can voice any opinion but also structured in that they react to an issue defined in the original survey. We think it’s a healthy balance that will facilitate productive dialogue.
The topic right now, so Ohio: Nazi Reenactment: Learning From Mistakes or Reliving Them?
You can read the FAQ page here.
How’d I get involved in this? I don’t know! How did I end up becoming a city council member in Pepper Pike? Let’s just say that the folks behind this fascinating platform are as good at the Google as I am and flattered me by making me think that this blog has a following (and yes, I tried to tell them, no one reads blogs anymore – but they don’t believe me).
*Wide Open, may it rest in peace, was a Plain Dealer political blog in which two left of center and two right of center Ohio bloggers went at it. Still kinda titillating to read – but also tortuous at times.
