Starting soon we’ll begin running a series of special Guest Voice posts by TMV readers. Some of them will be people who’ve written in comments and want to try a longer form. Unlike some of the Guest Voices done by invitation, these may be more heavily edited due to TMV style requirements. Most of these will run on weekends although there will be an occasional exception. We will be passing on posts that are nothing more than name calling, racist or laced with profanities but will run a variety of takes from readers that may in many cases not reflect the opinion of TMV or its many writers.
Joe Gandelman is a former fulltime journalist who freelanced in India, Spain, Bangladesh and Cypress writing for publications such as the Christian Science Monitor and Newsweek. He also did radio reports from Madrid for NPR’s All Things Considered. He has worked on two U.S. newspapers and quit the news biz in 1990 to go into entertainment. He also has written for The Week and several online publications, did a column for Cagle Cartoons Syndicate and has appeared on CNN.
