I initially did not want to draw Donald Trump as a pig. I thought that was too easy and was the type of thing that would be every other political cartoonist’ first idea. One of the first rules of cartooning is that you don’t go with your first idea. Of course, drawing Donald Trump as a pig is very irresistible. While this was not my first idea, I could not resist drawing Donald Trump as a pig.
But then again, if anyone thinks I was being lazy for going with another pig idea, my excuse is that I just had a stroke. You know, I’m gonna use that for a lot of excuses in the future.
Donald Trump has never been a friend to journalists. Earlier this week, he defended the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi by saying he was controversial and a lot of people didn’t like him, as though that justifies his murder, which was ordered by Mohammed bin Salman. Trump got angry at a reporter for “insulting” the murderer he was hosting in the Oval Office.
.Then we found out that last week on board Air Force One, Donald Trump got angry at a female reporter for asking him about Jeffrey Epstein, and yelled at her, “Quiet piggy.”
There is no justification for anyone, especially a president, to hurl sexist insults at a female reporter because she did her job. Only a piece of s–t sexist who has had the police called on him for his own domestic disturbances could find justification and defend Donald Trump’s misogyny.
