Obama is a Fascist?
by Dalitso Njolinjo
Watching Glen Beck emotionally tell his Fox News audience that he believes Obama is leading America on the road to fascism quite frankly baffles me. No, really it does. I don’t understand where he is coming from. Maybe it because I do not live in America and the news I get here in the UK is restricted to CNN and Fox on satellite cable, and MSNBC and CBS online.
I also make an effort to read a lot of conservative websites and right leaning-blogs, not because I agree with them, just because I am genuinely curious and interested in how the party out of power feels about current political topics.
Now granted it has been only 2 months since Obama was inaugurated but the isms that have been thrown at this guy like he was being stoned for adultery during biblical times is incredible.
Communism, Socialism, Marxism, all these isms and I do not see the actions from Obama which may have made people believe these claims.
It is also saddening because I agree with some conservative principles such as having a strong national defense’ and fiscal conservatism, but on the other hand I don’t see how conservatives are so quick to reject Obama after the previous administration’s handling of the two wars and the economy.
In an economic environment that has too much supply and very little demand, in an economic environment were credit flow from banks have frozen and there is no sign of it melting like the polar ice caps, in an economic environment were the previous administration bailed out financial institutions that crippled the financial system, in that environment, I don’t know how people can call Obama a fascist, socialist or Marxist with a straight face.
A pay freeze? Tax cuts to top tear earners who walk away with multi-million pound bonuses if they fail? Really?
So with all this confusion, I ask you — the conservatively inclined readers of the Moderate Voice — to please enlighten me. I must stress that I genuinely would like thoughtful conservative answers to what Obama is doing that is troubling them? I would also like thoughtful conservative answers to how you feel the Republican Party is representing you? I would also like your thoughts on how you feel the solutions proposed by the GOP will affect your real every day life, because I just don’t know, I only write about the communications, PR events and overhyped news stories that I receive from American news network.
I look forward to your thoughts.
