A Republican in Massachusetts is sort of like a unmarried Mormon, they exist but there aren’t very many of them.
President: Since 1960, only one Republican has carried the state and that was Ronald Reagan. Otherwise, the state has voted solidly Democratic and the trend is toward being even more liberal.
Safe Democratic
Senate: John Kerry may not have made it to the White House but he will have no trouble remaining in the Senate. In fact, the leading GOP contender couldn’t even get enough signatures to make the ballot. Kerry will easily win another term.
Safe Democrat
House: The last time Massachusetts had a Republican congressman, Bill Clinton was in his first term as President. The next time it does so, we may be recording electoral votes from the Martian colonies. All 10 incumbents are safe.
