Why bother writing articles, posts and comments based upon any analysis of facts, reality or logic? Honestly seeking scientific, rational and legal causation for the many events occurring in a complex world has become a waste of time. When pervasive apathy, congenital stupidity, willful ignorance, massive denial, and irrational religious and ideological dogmas dominate the majority of the U.S. electorate and the discourse of its political, business, social and religious leaders, America is on a massive downward spiral that few people wish to acknowledge, consider, alter or ameliorate.
The Republican Presidential Primaries have degenerated into a mindless, fact-free, and out-of-touch circus compared to the reality facing the majority of Americans. Religious, social, economic and political wars that were originally fought decades ago, have rejoined us again – pushing aside most urgent issues and any meaningful discussions concerning the future of the nation. The ideas and policies promoted by all the major Republican Candidates range from arch-conservative through irresponsible and reactionary to end in complete lunacy. This is not a serious campaign but a 24/7 made-for-media diversionary show of and by the top 1% to distract the majority of voters from reality.
The trillions of brain cells that have been, are, and will be used discussing, analyzing and predicting this fabricated horserace would be better employed focusing on the Kardashians and other mindless celebrity gossip. When people get upset every time Rush Limbaugh and other extreme right-wing reactionaries spew forth more gratuitous lies, insults, nonsense, and reprehensible ideas, they merely play into his hands and those of his large, secret financial supports.
Sadly, our corporate media and some moronic Americans demand immediate responses to all nasty, irrational and fact-free assertions. However for many thoughtful and fact-based people, just acknowledging these outlandish assertions and making efforts to refute them, appear to be pointlessly repetitive exercises. However the rational ones fail to recognize the power of repetition and the perpetual need to re-educate the electorate. Sadly many low-information voters assume unchallenged false assertions are true or else they determine the validity of all assertions on emotional, ideological or theological grounds.
Perhaps half of all voters are not paying attention to politics at this point in the election cycle. Thus all the anger, fears and opinions of the many commentators, bloggers, pundits, and hyper-partisans across the political spectrum are simply wasting their time because few people are paying attention. More likely, everything will have to be rehashed again in September and October – and then some voters will still vote on emotion without bothering to consider facts or reality. Many Americans (whether working or unemployed or somewhere in between) are struggling with the dismal economic realities of daily survival. Other shallow and narcissistic people are happily distracted by an endless stream of new electronic gadgets and software applications provided to us by the millions of slaves in foreign countries who produce these new 21st century technological marvels while living and working in conditions that flourished during the 18th and 19th Centuries.
Some Democrats, liberals and progressives seem to relish watching the implosion of the Republican Party. Little do they realize that the Democratic Party died back during the Clinton Administration. Both political parties are effectively moribund zombie entities and constitute the two sides of the same coin. They both are wholly controlled by (and sit comfortably in the pocket of) our 1% Oligarchic ruling class. It really doesn’t matter what party holds power in Congress or the White House now or for the foreseeable future. Our elected officials are the paid servants of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals and U.S. corporations – and about half of them now belong to that same top 1% group. Whatever strange opinions and proposals voiced by any politician today will not be enacted into law unless their plutocratic overlords and masters agree – which puts all the partisan lunatic rantings into perspective.
The U.S. political system and its scheduled elections serve merely as very expensive window-dressing – giving the majority Americans and many people around the world the false impression that the Constitution has not be rendered immaterial for most people and organizations within the U.S., and that America has become the most corrupt crony corporatist regime on earth – which now constitutes what is left of the moronic claim of “American Exceptionalism.”
A growing minority of people in all nations see through this massive global fraud, deceit, theft, insatiable greedy, Ponzi-scheme and corrupt world of global corporate power to scream out for justice, reform or revolution. The majority of people have not yet identified the real culprits in the world – the 5% of humanity who are sociopaths and psychopaths. These individuals were either born without consciences or souls (and such essential human attributes cannot be developed later), or others simply buried their limited consciences, natural empathy, and basic human respect for others in order to succeed in a world dominated by the completely amoral – and thus they have become sociopaths and psychopaths by operation.
What the 95% of humanity has failed to do is assert itself and make a serious effort to control the power and growth of these dangerous humanoids by denying, resisting, challenging, opposing, and adequately regulating them. Surreptitiously the sociopaths and psychopaths convinced the vast majority of people that letting them operate freely among us without meaningful and enforceable laws, regulations, and reasonable constrain would make everyone prosper. They also enlisted the help of the majority of politicians, lawyers, social and religious leaders, law-and-order control-freaks, religious zealots, and many educated people to protect their selfish and greedy interests for a much smaller piece of the economic pie and some meaningless political power and social prestige. After having indulged this unethical, inhumane and immoral mindset and free-for-all party for about 3 decades, a small and growing number of thoughtful, rational and independent individuals have realized that only the soulless monsters have made out richly in the increasingly lawless world we have created. Everyone else – including the health of the planet – have been sacrificed for the world’s oligarchy.
The current state of affairs can be perpetuated for years – perhaps decades – since the wealthy global oligarchy has complete control over our political, economic, business and social systems in the U.S. and in many other nations around the world. They have continuously ignored calls for decency, honesty, transparency, fairness, justice and humanity – and our corrupt, craven and callous politicians across the ideological spectrum have used the political system to protect and enrich their overlords and themselves, in order to perpetuate their control over the vast majority of people.
The 1% directly or indirectly control many of the national militaries and local police forces (and mass media and information sources) around the world – and in particular the U.S. They will gladly use them against the people in order to protect their wealth and power – basic human rights be damned. These future shows of official state control over (and violence) against generally powerless non-violent protesters will only be the first step of continued repression during the next several years. However after a critical mass of the electorate (not necessarily the majority of people) in America and around the globe get to a point where they have nothing left to lose and see through all the official lies and propaganda, then will a focused revolution be undertaken to overthrown our corrupt global oligarchy.
Humanity might profit during 2012 and the remainder of this decade from a few “black swan” economic, political, social, ecological or environmental events. They might help push over the many corrupt existing regimes – or else show the majority of people that the current crop of false leaders are vulnerable, incompetent, and unworthy of their power and wealth because their perpetual claims of foresight and control over this planet would have been completely undermined.
The ancient Maya might have been correct insofar as predicting the year 2012 would mark an abrupt end to the current world system under which we have lived for a few centuries and have ossified during the last 30 years. Poorly-designed, frozen by corruption, gridlocked by extreme ideologies, needlessly-complex, over-extended financially, and unsustainably bloated systems, organizations, nations and empires can quickly fall apart by themselves destroying their designers, makers and perpetuators. However that does not mean humanity should passively wait for events or others to destroy such entities when a critical mass of people needs to seize events and the popular discourse. 2013 might become the beginning a completely uncontrolled period of time in human history where everything will be unpredictable, questioned, challenged, dismantled, remade, and completely reconfigured – by means of the forces of both man and nature.
