2012 Match-ups: Obama, Romney Tied at 45%; Obama 48%, Palin 42%

It’s not even nine months since the last election. Really. I can’t take it. I think the only reason those numbers look the way they do is because they failed to offer all of the most likely responses.

“If the election were held today, would you…”

1. Vote for Barack Obama
2. Vote for Mitt Romney
3. Vote for Sarah Palin
4. Shoot yourself.

Number four came in at roughly 68%. We can’t have a 3.5 year campaign. We just can’t. I’m more addicted to politics than probably 95% of the voters in this country and when I saw that headline I wanted to move to Canada.

While I intellectually agree with you, since you don't pushback on Gandelman when he posts 3 polls per week and forecasts the death of the Republican Party in 2012, you can't cherrypick this one out and say it is too early. Suffer the entire nonsense like the rest of us.

When I read #4 I looked over to make sure the gun I used yesterday to shoot holes into the bottom of a new burn barrel was still leaning against the door jamb. It's good to be prepared.

This is why we need a law or amendment that says you can't campaign, plan a campaign, fund-raise for a campaign, poll for a campaign until the actual year of election. No more of these starting of presidential campaigns two days after the Presidential election. My God. WE ARE CAMPAIGNED OUT.
