First of all, nice hairstyle Stacey. My wife has something similar. OK. To the meat:
It is 2012. The first non-white President was elected in 2008. A historic moment in American history. No way to deny that (unless your just a blockhead hater since I’m only expressing the historic moment, not his presidency). But even though a brown dude was elected POTUS, there are still instances where “the racial thing” just slaps you in the face. Case in point – Actress Stacey Dash’s support of Romney/Ryan:
Stacey Dash’s Pro-Romney Tweet Becomes Racial Flashpoint
By WSJ StaffActress Stacey Dash (“Clueless”) tweeted her support for presidential candidate Mitt Romney Sunday, writing “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future.” She included a photo of herself wearing a red swimsuit, standing in front of the American flag.
The tweet, which has been retweeted more than 5,000 times, sparked a range of responses on Twitter, both for and against Dash’s view. But the Twitter reaction also included racially charged tweets leveled at Dash, who is of mixed race, which in turn prompted others (even if they didn’t agree with Dash’s presidential endorsement) to support her right to express her opinion without being subject to racist tweets.
While there have been tweets supporting her choice (even if they disagree with her position), there have been many more bashing her as “confused”, an “Uncle Tom”, a “jiggaboo”, and worse. Even one of my favorite actors, Samuel L. Jackson took a dig with:
Wait, did Stacey Dash Really endorse Romney today?! REALLY????! Is she CRA………..??!

*SIGH*
Message to my fellow Black folks that are criticizing Stacey Dash (and yes she’s getting most of the criticism from black folks): Do we really have to go there? I don’t know if you’ve been linked into popular events but President Barack Obama is President of the United States of America (not President of Black America). He received 69,499,428 votes in 2008. But guess what? John McCain received 59,950,323 votes. Almost 60 million Americans had a different point of view. And some of those people were Black! So Stacey Dash is not voting for Barack Obama. Big deal. I’m not voting for Obama or Romney. And? It’s my choice. Something that black civil rights activists back in the day fought and died for: a free choice! Guess what you have done with your criticism of her vote/support? Gave Team Romney some meat to tenderize (via The Huffington Post):
Dash said that Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, called her on Tuesday afternoon to tell her how brave she is. Ryan tweeted his thanks, saying: “Had a great conversation with @REALStaceyDash this afternoon. Thank you for your support!”
I hate the electoral college. I can’t stand the whole Presidential campaign season due to all the static that is generated and the lack of visionary ideas coming from the incumbent and candidate. But I do understand how the game is played. Team Romney is taking any and everything to turn into a weapon against Team Obama. Now they have a weapon that their surrogates and supporters are going to run with (Cult of Obama, Obamabots, black racial purity in voting, etc). Yuck! Spit! Yuck again.
Ugh! Now I’m getting emails from my conservative friends asking why black folks treating Stacey Dash like that. Every time I think I’m away from from “Answering for Black America”, something pulls me back in.
* UPDATE *
Twitchy.com just had to say it:
Disturbing and sickening, but all too typical. As always, the Left cracks whip with any minority or woman who won’t accept her assigned place on the Democrat plantation.
Any damn conservative that says “Democratic Plantation” is a complete and utter bigot. Plain and simple. Those black folks that leveled VILE criticism at Stacey Dash are bigots as well. Two sides of the same damn coin. If you want Black folks (if you care), to leave the Democratic Party, the word “plantation” needs to be banned from all your content. The Democratic Party is not a plantation. The Republican Party is not a “plantation”. They are a POLITICAL PARTIES. Here’s to hoping your mouse/trackball/touchpad/touchscreen becomes contagious with poison ivy.
Jerks…
I’m not complex. Don’t have time for all that. And all that complex stuff bad for the stomach. Just color me simple and plain with a twist.
