MiamiHerald.com reports that New Jersey Republican Congressman Chris Smith, who has been championing the Sean Goldman case all along, introduced a bill in Congress today that would temporarily remove Brazil from a duty-free trade program.
Smith says that Brazil received $2.75 billion in benefits last year.
It is reported that David Goldman, who is still in Rio de Janeiro, calls the Brazilian judicial flip-flops “an absolute tragedy.”
Reports are now that the Brazil Supreme Court will “review the case next week.”

SAD UPDATE:
USA TODAY reports today, Friday:
David Goldman, the New Jersey father who has been trying for five years to get custody of his son in Brazil, returned home alone Friday.
Goldman rushed to Rio de Janeiro earlier this week when a federal judge ruled that he should have custody of 9-year-old Sean. But the Brazilian Supreme Court later said it would review the decision and put off the handover. It is scheduled to make a ruling Wednesday.
Goldman’s wife took the boy to Brazil in 2004. She died last year in childbirth, and the boy has been living with his mother’s new husband.
U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama, have said the boy should be returned to his father.
NBC’s Today show has been following the story with exclusive interviews with Goldman all week. To see video go here
