When you see this logo from now on (unless the book has a logo we use instead) you’ll note that it’s for a TMV book review.
A word on this: over the past year we’ve almost been negligent in getting around to review some very good books for this site. The reason: due to our travel, some personal complications and the posts we have to do to keep this updated, we haven’t gotten around to doing the reviews we envisioned. In almost all cases we planned long, detailed, almost stand-alone features of books — as posts that just happened to be about a book.
But now we’re changing course. When you see this logo you’ll be getting a shorter, punchy review that will in most cases be posted simultaneously on Amazon.com (where before decided to put his time into blogging TMV was ranked as one of Amazon’s Top 500 reviewers — see our link under OTHER VOICES to read the reviews).
We hope to gradually get to the backlog of some of the books we agreed to review — except in the case of one publisher who sent us a ton of books. Most were very tedious so rather than pan them we gave them away to the San Diego library and friends.
So..expect to see a couple of reviews here a month. Many — but not all — will be politically-oriented books.
