Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) finally swore in Arizona Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D) and the Jeffrey Epstein floodgates opened. After sending Representatives home for a two month paid vacation, Johnson’s action made it clear that blocking release of any Epstein material was his chief reason for shutting down the House. Remember: it’s a bipartisan group that has pressed for release.
As The NY Times notes, President Trump’s name is mentioned in emails released by both Democrats and Republicans in Epstein’s “mocking and accusatory voice.”
Now Trump is calling this the “Epstein hoax” as he does for anything that he dislikes.
Despite the flood (20,000 documents) of material, there apparently is more to come. Rep. Johnson that he will call a vote on the resolution to release the Epstein files sometime next week.

Marc Elias in his member newsletter Wednesday:
Trump is the guy in the Access Hollywood tape. He is the man who paid off a porn star to conceal an affair. He is the person accused of and found liable for sexual assault. He is, as Spy Magazine called him decades ago, a “short fingered vulgarian.”
The government closure may be behind us. Health care costs are still a crisis for tens of millions of Americans. Affordability in general plagues even more.
But for the guy in the White House — and his GOP sycophants — all of that pales in comparison to concern over the Epstein Files. It is what is driving their thinking and, most importantly, his actions.
