Inspired by your eerily beautiful photo, I thought I would post this one, just received, not to compete with yours but because I think it is both beautiful, too, and because somehow it evokes and represents the skills and dedication of those who serve us.
This one is of a U.S. Air Force pilot performing a pre-flight check on an F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany (SL, I am sure you have heard of it — I was stationed quite close to it in the 70s), before leaving for Nordic Air Meet 2012 in Finland. The pilot is assigned to the 480th Fighter Squadron, which left for the multinational training exercise to share and exchange new combat tactics with allied countries.
