May you be blessed in the New Year,
May you always find your way back to warmth,
May you be given blessings you can see and remember aloud,
May you find some meaningful part of the mystery that you cherish,
… that cherishes you in return,
May you have entertainments that delight you,
May others be good to you,
forgive you, ask your forgiveness,
May you touch someone else’s heart now and then,
May you always find your way back to true home,
even in the cold,
even in the dark…
true home being that place where someone,
or Something greater,
ever leaves the light on for us.
I join my colleagues here at The Moderate Voice in wishing each and every one of you a 2009 that fulfills many of the hopes we are all carrying. Though there is and will be the downward and the horrific in this world, there is also the ongoing radiant, the quiescent, the simple and the achingly sweet. There’s the inventive, the better way, the path of heart, and the bag of smart moves.
We’re tough and deephearted: so is the Phoenix. Thereby as a culture, as a worldwide clan, we’re positioned perfectly for resurrection. I hope you will in some part hold that thought with me for all of 2009.
