Akin Vows To Remain In Senate Race

Aug 21, 2012 by

In a move that pretty much insures the re-election of Senator Claire McCaskill (D) , GOP Congressman Todd Akin announced today he will remain in the US Senate race despite his idiotic comments on rape and pregnancy.

Like many on both sides of the political fence, I cannot express how much his conduct and comments have revolted me and I will certainly do everything I can to aid in his defeat.

For the national GOP this is a bad bit of news as it not only costs them a possible Senate seat but quite possible the electoral votes of Missouri, a key to any chances of a Romney win.

Don’t be so sure … He still may win in good ol’ Mo.

  2. Agreed. Understanding that it’s only a couple of days since his comments, where is the evidence that it’s going to actually sway the election? McCaskill needs to take the right approach to this in order to win, if she overplays there could be a martyr effect.

Every one of these yahoos that make utterly foolish statements have seen their coffers expand by the “faithful”. Think Chick-Fil-A. The Family Research Coun cil, the American Family Association (Tom Wildmon), and Steve King are all supporting him. They can raise a lot of money and, more to the point, get out the vote. After all, he was 5 points ahead of McCaskill and is still 1 point ahead. And let’s face it, if Steve King is for you, who can be against you?
