In 2008, when Hillary Clinton first ran for the Democratic presidential nomination against Barack Obama, I asked one of her oldest allies how she could be losing a race that appeared to be hers to win. "I've known Hillary for many years, ever since she came to Arkansas," former Sen. Dale Bumpers told me. "She'll find… … [Read more...] about Democrats should worry, not panic

Could a Terrorist Attack Pitchfork Donald Trump into the White House?
Embed from Getty Images Could a terror attack elect Donald Trump? I've long pondered that question and despite some analysts making a logical argument that it night not be enough, I increasingly have felt yes -- particularly if it's coupled with several other October surprises, all aimed at defeating Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (see below). The Daily … [Read more...] about Could a Terrorist Attack Pitchfork Donald Trump into the White House?

Politix Update: Donald Trump Is Not Deplorable. Or Disgusting. He Is Depraved.

Cartoon: Shoot the Birther
Shoot the Birther by Clay Jones I started this cartoon while sitting at a bar. I finished it at home because things got crazy, but that’s another story. But the math says Tarantula tequila plus girl-too-young for Clay means Clay doesn’t get home until after 5:00 AM. I digress. So before the Tarantula or what’s-her-name showed up I started this cartoon by lettering the … [Read more...] about Cartoon: Shoot the Birther

Trump Does Hold the Edge in Deplorable Supporters
Trump Does Hold the Edge in Deplorable Supporters By John L. Micek Let's start with this: Hillary Clinton committed a political gaffe last week when she described half of Donald Trump's supporters as "deplorables," racists, xenophobes and homophobes. But it was a political gaffe in the classic definition of the word, the one made famous by journalist Michael Kinsley. It … [Read more...] about Trump Does Hold the Edge in Deplorable Supporters
Prairie Weather Has Passed
Prairie Weather, a longtime The Moderate Voice contributor, died on September 10. She was 78. The Reincarnation Of P.T. Barnum
Yesterday, Donald Trump walked away from his claim that Barack Obama was not born in the United States and, thus, not qualified to be president. He then took no questions and walked out of the room.
