Portland blogger Michael Totten has been checking the online forums at Portland’s Indymedia site and finds, well, what you’d expect from a group of people who still haven’t managed to blame 9/11 on terrorists. One insinuates Western governments did the attack to distract from the G8 discussions on African poverty. Various culprits – or alternately, profiteers – so far include Jews, Tony Blair, Halliburton, Bechtel, Coke, and even the media. Lou Dobbs’ seemingly innocuous statement that the bombings were by “Islamic terrorists” caused an outcry:
CNN tries hard to come across as fair and balanced, but Dobb’s ultra-primetime slot every single night betrays CNN’s true philosophy. When the trials for 911 begin, there’s going to be a lot of ‘newspeople’ defending themselves against conspiracy charges. Conspiracy to coverup the truth, and aiding and abetting MASS MURDER. Lou Dobbs will be at the very top of that list. Can’t wait to see his smug mug behind bars in Leavenworth, right next to Bush and Cheneythesatan.
As Totten says, “This clown wants to lock up journalists for reporting terrorist attacks? Way to go, bud. You’ll be in power any day now.”
He continues, “I can’t even get mad at these people any more. They’re just deluded and sad. And they make Dennis Kucinich look like Charles Krauthammer.” Indeed, as a native Oregonian myself, I’d much prefer hanging out with Ohio’s weird little congressman than a good chunk of Portlanders, who have stained a beautiful city with their wacko claims. Just hope the authorities don’t overreact to such lunacy by appearing to silence it under the guise of keeping public order, and confer sympathy on these morons.
