Last night on his show Joe Scarborough bluntly laid out the differences between traditional Republican conservatives and the establishment Republican conservatives: one is more rooted in Thomas Jefferson (and we remind people in Barry Goldwater). The other wing follows whatever the White House says on most issues.
He was looking at the issue of the leaks and the New York Times.
You can watch what he said HERE and use your own political anchor to form your own opinion (we gave you ours).
NOTE: I’ve increasingly started watching Scarborough because although I don’t agree with him on everything he has shown an independence of thought. I know I’m not watching a lockstep political talk show host who reads over emails from the RNC or DNC and regurgitates it on his show. No matter what the issue, I know he’s working through it and giving us his best take — not a take designed necessarily to advance one party or the other, although he clearly has his preferences and makes no secret about that. Last night was one of his finest independent moments. MSNBC is planning to axe some of its talk shows; hopefully his will remain.
