X is one of the letters I wasn’t sure about in terms of topic. Not that many words start with X and things like X is for X-Ray or X Marks The Spot seemed overdone.
Then I came across the idea of Xenon. For those who don’t know Xenon is an element, one of the noble gases. It is used in a number of applications ranging from lasers to medical imaging. It is used in astronomy and the xenon lamp was the basis for the modern flash on cameras.
The point I am getting to is that while it is largely unknown or ignored by most of us Xenon is actually an important part of our daily lives.
How many of us are alive because we or our parents were treated with a medical product using Xenon ?
How many memories are preserved in photos because of camera flashes ?
And so on.
Which leads to the broader point.
How many people who we barely notice serve important roles in our lives ?
I don’t mean this in the sense of the rich man ignoring his servants but just the fact that we all have busy lives and sometimes we fail to notice.
Try taking a day to pay attention and see who is out there.. You might be surprised.
And you might make a friend.
