In Zimbabwe the deadlock (or alleged deadlock) continues in talks between the ruling Zanu-PF party and the MDC opposition party. I say alleged deadlock because any neutral view would hold that the MDC is the clear choice of a vast majority of voters and yet the Zanu-PF dictators continue to act as if they are giving major concessions.
“A source quoted by the AFP news agency said the proposal to name Mr Tsvangirai (the real winner of the last Presidential election) third vice-president showed a “complete lack of sincerity and the need to really address the issues and problems Zimbabwe is facing”. Zimbabwe’s current first and second vice-presidents are both high-ranking Zanu-PF members.”
This is a real problem that needs to be addressed but sadly much of the world seems more interested in who wins the latest reality show.
