TMV is continuing to evolve and as we head into this mid-term election year you may see more changes. Some are going on now:
BLOGROLL: We’re continuing to update our blogroll which means eliminating some sites. This is usually done of the blog is inactive. We don’t eliminate sites that don’t agree with this site (just check the blogs on the blogroll and that’s clear). There may be other reasons. We also will continue to politely decline advice from readers about sticking X blog in another category or Y blog in another; we respect each blog writer and put their site in the category they have requested or agreed to. You’ll see some new blogs if you keep checking the blogroll. We don’t announce additions to or deletions from our blogroll. (TMV uses his blogroll but also checks other blog aggregators as well. See OTHER VOICES for some of the ones he uses).
COBLOGGERS: You may see that we have more cobloggers than those that coblog. That’s due to a mix of time constraints and burnout on the part of some of this site’s cobloggers. However, not one has asked to be taken off the blogroll so each person invited continues to have an invitation to post whenever they wish. Their talents are respected and welcome — whenever they can contribute (and we hope it’s often).
Also, in the past few months some have emailed us asking us to drop a coblogger whose post they considered too much to the right and a blogger whose post they considered too much to the left. You may have read about the controversy on a blog over the blog owner demanding writers toe a certain line. Some may feel that is the way to go and make a case for it. However, as all the cobloggers know they were all invited due to the independence they displayed on posts on their own sites.
So we don’t censor. If that ever arose, we might have to then do a post to answer a post. But usually we don’t (cobloggers have differed with yours truly in the past and TMV simply shrugs and moves on since the world will survive).
You may also see a new name or two as a coblogger in coming weeks.
GUEST VOICE COLUMNS: Some readers who don’t have blogs or who want to do a special post here have found that we have run extensive Guest Voice columns. We’ll run more of them in coming months.
MORE DIVERSE POST LENGTHS: Due to an extremely busy travel schedule, in the next three months TMV will be driving and flying huge distances. He may also be involved with a major project during the days. So you will likely see his own posts appearing in the early morning or late night (or on a timer). During the day you will also see more SHORTER posts and pointer posts to other blogs versus our longer roundup/analysis posts that go against advice for blogs, but which we do — and readers say they like (Cobloggers as usual get to do their own thing).
AND ONCE AGAIN WE SAY: If you like every post on this site, great. If you see a post you don’t like or agree with (because it’s too far to the left or right) always remember: differing ideas don’t cause brain cancer — and may actually be beneficial to your intellectual health.
