As Michelle Malkin tweeted: If Romney keeps delivering the energetic, passionate, pro-freedom speech he just gave in PA to the rest of the USA, he will win.
Amen sister. This speech truly boils it down to the difference in Romney and Obama. No matter what the problems we conservatives have with Romney, he understands fundamentally what makes America great. Obama does not understand this. Obama saying, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that” shows us this basic difference.
Update: I wanted to respond to a commenter that wrote that it was the “paved roads,” that sort of thing that Obama was talking about when he said, “you didn’t build that.” As I told the commenter, I totally did get what Obama meant. I know he meant the paved road to the business. But what Obama doesn’t understand is that it wasn’t government that paid for that road. It was businessmen and women who paid their taxes that built that road. It really does go to the heart of things. Successful business=taxes=government roads. There is no road without the business. Obama believes there is no business without the road (metaphorically speaking). And THAT is the fundamental difference.
Obama let a bit of what he really believes seep through there. He cost taxpayers billions of dollars in the failed stimulus, the failed green companies, and shoveling money to the car companies who make electric cars. None of it works. Because the free market system works, and Obama truly knows nothing about that, and has been taught his whole life that government will make things fair between “the have” and “the have nots.” But what really makes life fair is opportunity and hard work.
