As you all know, I spent almost four weeks in Turkey this summer. Today, after 26 great days in Turkey, I landed in Amsterdam. Today, you ask, I thought yesterday? Well, I would have arrived yesterday, except for one thing? the airliner, corendon, changed the time. The original plan was 9 August, back at 12 PM Dutch time, they changed it into 4.10 on August the 10th. I only found out 9 hours before I thought I had to fly. Of course, this meant that I had an extra day in Turkey which was terrific. Sometimes ‘bad news’ is extremely good news. This was such a case.
I also promised you all to write more posts about Turkey. I will, indeed, do that. Most likely tomorrow. However, I will write a big article, 5000 words, which will – again most likely – be published in next week Friday’s Turkish Daily News. I link to the website of this Turkish newspaper very often and am very happy that I am allowed to contribute something every now and then to it, starting with an account of the time I spent this summer in both Izmir and Istanbul.
Check back tomorrow for more about Turkey – I lived with Turkish people, so my account will most likely be different from most accounts.
