Joe wrote a magnificent, long post on the death of Saddam Hussein, former dictator of Iraq.
If you want to read more on it, you can read my take on it here. Excerpt:
[T]here is also the danger of growing anger. I talked to a couple of Muslims about this and they all seem to believe that it is America who is ‘behind’ Saddam’s death, instead of Iraq. They seem to consider the Iraqi government as America’s puppet. In fact, they seemed to be angry: not because they support Saddam, but because they believe it was not necessary to kill him and because they believe that, again, America is behind all of it.
To read fellow co-blogger Shaun’s take on it, go here.
The man known as Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti, responsible for three decades of brutality against the Iraqi people, has been hanged. Osama bin Laden, the man responsible for the 9/11 attacks that were a justification for toppling the dictator, remains free.
Again, you can read Shaun’s post here and my post here.
