That’s from Walter Lippmann’s famous work Public Opinion, published in 1920. It is a fantastic work, of which I will undoubtedly share more from. Reading this passage, I got a chill, though. My mind immediately jumped to Pat Tillman, but this could describe so much about how Americans (and all people) relate to the world around them, it’s mildly terrifying.
