Signs of an emerging, sometimes angry split among conservatives over the immigration issue can be seen on some weblogs:
–Some readers of a popular conservative weblog hurl the angriest, worst adjective they can at it: “moderate.”
–A guest-blogger leaves another conservative weblog after the blog’s owner reportedly told writers that they should either agree with him on immigration or not blog on that site anymore..
–The owner of that weblog, PoliPundit, explains his position, particularly that he has “at least three out of four guest bloggers who will reflexively try to poke holes in any argument I make [on immigration].” He has temporarily revoked posting privileges of all guest bloggers.
Suppose a Bush administration official came out openly against amnesty. The Bushies would show him the door. Similarly, the writers at PoliPundit.com need to respect the editorial position of PoliPundit.com on the most important issue to this blog, as the “publisherâ€? sees it – illegal immigration.
