That seems to be how Republicans are trying to spin this. It’s either a purely personal matter that is above politics and has nothing to do with the Republican Party, or it’s somehow all the Democrats’ fault for making too much of it and turning it into a political issue, or liberals’ fault for being so politically-correct that Republicans were just too scared to come out and finger Foley when they knew full well what he was up to.
How convenient. And what a load of […..] (fill in the blank with your preferred term).
Over at The Reaction, guest blogger Capt. Fogg looks at The Foley Affair from an “only in Florida” perspective.
See here.
As for me, I take on Dennis Hastert, who has emerged as one of the real idiots, and a dangerous one at that, in American politics. He claims that this is all about the Democrats playing politics a month before the midterms. And he promises that Republicans will go on the “offensive”. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???????????
Yes, the offensive. As if Foley’s sexual predation wasn’t offensive enough, the GOP is about to unleash some political predation on the Dems. How predictable. How reprehensible.
You can find my full post on Hastert, cursing and all, here.
