Most thinking Americans and those that have a human organ in their body called a heart were utterly shocked and saddened by the news that CBS’s Lara Logan was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted on the streets of Cairon.
Now she has been cyberspace assaulted by so-called “pundits” of the left and right. DETAILS HERE. Two words: nauseating and despicable.
It’s really sad that we’ve reached a point where this kind of bilge and lack of compassion is trumped by partisan and ideological hatred — and that is really what it comes down to. Forget any cover stories or attempts that come later to try and parse the words. Yes, Virginia, there are most assuredly people today who can’t look at another human being and tilt on the side of humanity because the other person dared to disagree with them. And, yes indeedy, there truly is a market for this kind of “punditry” which can garner hits, and all kinds of other goodies that spring from notoriety.
But the two words remain: nauseating and despicable.
And we’re not just talking about what Logan went through on the streets of Cairo.
