Eight months ago Jimmy Fallon had Michele Bachmann on his show. As she walked out to join the show, the house band played “Lyin’Ass Bitch.” Edgy humor? Poor taste? Sexist crap? Depends on your perspective I suppose. But, at least Fallon fancies himself a comedian, not a serious news source. That excuse doesn’t work for CNN.
The self-proclaimed nonpartisan 24 hour news channel did a piece yesterday on Sarah Palin’s support for Chick-fil-A. The segment opened with an overlay of Pink’s song “Stupid Girls.”
Don’t get me wrong, I like Pink. She’s got attitude. But, “Stupid Girls” is an anthem to rebellion from the bimbo mold that borders on pornographic in its depiction of its title characters, Stupid Girls. The song is powerful, but to compare Sarah Palin to the Stupid Girls, as CNN seemed to do, includes references in the song to Stupid Girls acquiescing in all manner of sexual behavior, including violent oral sex.
