Its the issue of Salon blogger Glenn Greenwald versus General Petraeus’ spokesman. A conservative blogger says Greenwald was selective in private emails he published on his blog. Greenwald responds in detail calling it “abject stupidity defined. Then a ton of others respond in varying ways, such as here, here, here, here, here and here. And that’s just a cross-section.
There are a couple of big issues at play here, which are well-covered in the linked posts (of both right and left). However, another issue is what this shows about how the Internet and blogs operate. The quick response. The equally quick polarization. It happens super-quick due to the speed of the Internet. Is this the Internet News/Opinion Media’s agony….or ecstasy? Or a little or both?
