And we should hear it more often. When Rep. Justin Amash (R.-MI) said that the House would be doing Obama a favor by delaying the ACA for a year the panel on ABC laughed out loud at him. He deserved it not only for that reason but for his other statement on where negotiations should start.
“You can’t start where the Democrats want us to start,” he opined. “You have to start with a Republican proposal. We have a Republican majority [in the House] that was elected by Republicans. Let’s start with a Republican proposal.”
Sure. Because the House is the only legislative body in the U.S. Government. There is no Senate that a bill would have to pass as well which was elected by the American people just as much as the House was.
