Scozzafava Endorses Owens

Former Congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava has endorsed Democrat Bill Owens over Conservative Doug Hoffman.

Her statement read:

“In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first. Please join me in voting for Bill Owens on Tuesday. To address the tough challenges ahead, we must rise above partisanship and politics and work together. There’s too much at stake in this election to do otherwise.”

Given Hoffman’s hard right views on a number of issues her move is hardly surprising and I suspect if I lived in the district I’d be doing the same.

After being accused of being a RINO, Scozzafava goes out of her way to prove it. Once again the liberal left said jum and Scozzafava did. No wonder so few people supported her.

  2. Polimom says:

sd's glib, easily predicted reaction is precisely why I think she should have refrained from endorsing anyone at all.

  3. AustinRoth says:

    Again, the hypocrisy comes out.

Lieberman says he may support some Republicans and is vilified as an opportunist. Scozzafava of course is just being principled.

  4. JeffersonDavis says:

    I don't know, Polimom….

Every time these morons that run the parties do these things, I can't help but chuckle.
With every instance, it brings us closer and closer to a third-party run.

Since the parties themselves are at the root of half of our governments ills; i hope they both fail hard.

  5. DLS says:

Is this RINO, Rockefeller Republican sickness? Is it bitterness about losing to someone more authentic? Is it bitterness against outsiders? (No Dem resents Washington visits, not limited to Obama and big Wall Street, etc., donors.) Is it worship of the Duopoly over anyone independent?

Any of the foregoing questions, with an affirmative answer, as an explanation is damning.

… on this site mis-state what is obvious. (No excuse to slander the “far right,” anybody right of Barbara Boxer or at least of Brookings, is left unseized.)
