Daniel Radcliffe: Cool Nerd. Atheist.

While the Potter films were earning him millions of adoring fans around the world, Radcliffe’s role as the bespectacled boy wizard was causing resentment at school.

However, with an estimated £30 million fortune in the bank and Hollywood at his feet – all before his 20th birthday – Radcliffe said his life is proof that that ‘uncool’ kids come out on top.

Your typical celebrity fluff. Then this:

Radcliffe has been reticent on the subject of religion in the past, but in an interview to promote the latest instalment in the film franchise, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on July 15, he said: “I’m an atheist, but I’m very relaxed about it. I don’t preach my atheism, but I have a huge amount of respect for people like Richard Dawkins who do. Anything he does on television, I will watch.”

He joked: “There we go, Dan, that’s half of America that’s not going to see the next Harry Potter film on the back of that comment.”

Hannah, you have a choice; You either recognize that your idol is an atheist (and he's said this before) and therefore accept that all those nasty things you've been taught about atheists may not be so true (Angelina Jolie, Bill Gates, also atheists) OR you reject Daniel as an idol despite all the things you like about him because you are unwilling to let go of the bigotry you've probably learned from your parents, teachers and/or preachers.

10% of the US is atheist. A hell of a lot more of Europe is atheist. The world has not ended. We're regular people, I promise ;)

I'm actually proud of Daniel Radcliffe. We need more celebrities who aren't going to remain in the closet out of fear of what ignorant bigots will do because of their lack of religion.

Guys if you come out from monkeys that's your belief but I personally want to know that there is a higher power running this universe. You don't even have a proof for what you are sustaining. If you wanna be proud about the fact that you're atheists go on...go on write on your funny t shirt this thing so everybody can see it.
