More Bad Imagery For Sarah Palin

This time it involves the arrest of her husband’s half sister — and this should NOT be used against her by her critics — and tensions between her family and her daughter’s ex-fiance. But in the way 21st century politics operates, it most assuredly will provide gloat material for some. The larger issue is this: through her own making or not, Palin has hit a nasty period of negative imagery and the hits in the form of news stories with her name in it that won’t help her imagery keep on comin’. Just being a dream story for tabloids does not a White House Oval Office victory in 2012 make…

Yeah… I'm not interested in what Palin's extended family does. What's important is her own actions. You can't hide your roots, which is what your family brings out.

But seriously, I hope no one uses this against Sarah. Just like I hope no one uses Diana Palin's affiliation with Sarah against her. :)

Awesome. I wish they were representing us in Europe…

That's a ridiculous comment, Elrod. I seem to remember hearing about a few skeletons in Obama's family closet, and I don't hear anyone tarnishing his reputation on that basis (as they shouldn't.) We've also had plenty of history with other presidents of both parties with embarrassing relatives.

At some point, if you guys want to take the high road, you'll have to take your one foot off the low road. It really doesn't fly to continually post stories talking about how we're NOT going to talk about this or that (while of course, truly not talking about the people that you don't want to embarrass.)

There's more than enough about Sarah Palin personally to warrant political criticism.

Her handling of troopergate was in my mind fair game only because it demonstrated her governing style. Further afield, her husband's affiliation with the Alaskan Indepence Party was worth comment because she spoke at their convention.

If I had to take the hits for how my sister lived her life, I have some explaining to do too.

What Palin does is acceptable for critical comment, news of her extended family, not so much.

This is a lot of tempest in a teapot. As CStanley says, Obama's near relatives are going through a lot of problems and nary a peep from Memeo……. and other outlets, except a bare-bones, unexamined look-the-other-way “investigation.”

Palin has been a target because of her background of Christian culture and has been examined with thousand-tooth combs while the BHO clan & even his own seamy dealings with Rezko were swept under the rug [metaphor alert].

The political culture of the mass media is as askew as the economy. And the NYT didn't even mention the deep bow to King Abdullah, an egregious a breach of protocol that, had GWB done the same [the photoshopped kiss in private is suspect and holding hands is a sign of friendship], the hypocrites led by Darfur Keller would have been howling for days in print and on the air.

What a bummer that ancient McCain didn't win the Whitehouse…lol..

Can you imagine one-heartbeat-away Caribou-barbie sitting at the helm of this nation in these troubled times???

    *shudder*

Question: Which candidate spoke endlessly about the importance of “small town values”? Which candidate spoke about the “real America” which exists outside the big cities? Which candidate was the mayor of the town called the “crystal-meth capitol of Alaska”? Which candidate attended a fundamentalist chuch and had to rush to get married because she discovered herself pregnant?

If you're going to run on “family values,” your family ought to have some.

  8. CStanley says:

So, family values to you means that you control the behavior of everyone in your family and extended family, Carson72? How does that work, exactly?
