Obama And The Teleprompter: Words Are A Spirit

I’m trying to figure out something dear readers. Can you help me out please?

If you write your own speeches the majority of the time and use a teleprompter the majority of the time so you can read from that speech, does that mean what Ed Morrissey says at Hot Air:

Look, a TelePrompter is a tool, like anything else, and using the right tool for the right job is part of competent performance. Using it at press briefings, though, looks more like Obama is helpless without a script than a man relying on technology for success. Had the media paid attention to Obama’s disastrous off-script performances during the campaign, he might not be at the podium at all now.

HMMM! Disastrous off-script performances reporting by the media would have caused then Senator Barack Obama to lose to Senator John McCain? And since he writes many of his words but reads them off the teleprompter, that makes him not intelligent and dare I say, an empty suit (yuck)?

Sometimes I must shake my head at the absurdity of what constitutes news (The Politico kicked this off). Of course there is some gleeful response by some of those at The Right Blogtopia concerning this story here, here, and here. But hey, it’s an eye for an eye. Former President Bush’s Texas drawl and down home “folksy-ness” was fodder for The Left Blogtopia.

My mother always tells me that “words are a spirit”. No matter if recited from memory or read from paper (teleprompter in this case), they reach out and touch. If they didn’t, how could they be responded to?

This is petty. It’s micro-analyzation run amok. I wish sometimes that the 24-hour a day news cycle would go the way of pet rocks.

UPDATE

Word on the street is that President Obama is really a talking robot. Take that all you folks who say strong AI isn’t possible yet! But we better be careful with our robotic leader or SkyNet will end the world as we know it.

Not to speak for Ed but the presidential election was between Obama and Clinton. McCain was just a side show.

Im pretty sure he was implying that Clinton would be standing up their right now.

I am sorry to regress, but I have to in this case.

Does anyone remember, George W.Bush, the President of these United States, a long, long time ago?

And I havent' even gone to the links provided by T-Steel--don't need to.

How does Ed Morrissey even dare to bring up Obama's oratory skills, script or no script, teleprompter or no teleprompter, spontaneous or non-spontaneous, after eight painful years of having to listen not only to an empty suit, but to an empty mind, to an empty spirit.

    D.E.,

He brings it up because his reasoning skills since moving to Hot Air are drawing closer and closer to Michelle Malkin.
