“How to win when you don’t have the votes – A Tale of Two Kochs
by Slamfu [icopyright one button toolbar]
So there has been an ever growing list of Republican shenanigans as they try to twist the voting process to counter the fact that in a lot of areas, they simply don’t have the votes. There are a few ways you can go about fixing that. Coming up with newer, better policies that affect more American voters in positive ways for instance. Or you can do this:

You see, Koch backed Americans for Prosperity sent out hundreds of thousands of “voter registration” information packets in North Carolina that were rife with false and misleading information such aswhen final registration dates were and bad information on where to sign up. Now, to the skeptical eye, this might appear as some rather
obvious form of voter fraud, voter tampering at the least, done on a wide scale. It might also appear that way to an objective eye, because that is what it is. While complaints have been filed, and some noise has been made about investigating this, right now it just appears to be the usual illusion of doing something for the 48-72 hours of news cycle that it’s in, and will be swept under the rug shortly thereafter.
It seems sometimes that we have all grown so used to outrageous stunts like this that we just don’t get that worked up about them anymore. If we cared, wouldn’t people go to jail for stuff like this? Undermining the process is a big deal, and the GOP has taken doing so to new heights. And with the downside, both political and legal, almost nonexistent, why wouldn’t they? How long before both parties= just say screw it, and turn the entire process into even more of a reality show type circus where the cast is actually rewarded for the strife and chaos they create? I mean, if voters don’t punish them in the polls for basically cheating, then we have not only allowed them to do so, we are encouraging them to do so. They’d be stupid not to do so. In another 10 or 20 years I’m sure major elections will have more in common with an episode of Jersey Shore than with statesmanship
and serious government. I have often said we have exactly the politicians we deserve. If we don’t start acting like these things matter, I mean really matter, pretty soon we’ll have an election process to match.
